Futur Montréal Names Jean-François Kacou as Mayoral Candidate

UPDATE: Futur Montréal has officially nominated Jean-François Kacou as its candidate for mayor of Montreal in the highly anticipated municipal election on November 2, 2023. This newly established party is determined to “do politics differently,” promising bold ideas and solutions that emphasize fairness, accountability, and inclusion.
“This is not just a nomination. This is history,” declared Joel DeBellefeuille, co-founder of Futur Montréal, highlighting Kacou’s extensive experience and credibility. The party aims to transform Montreal’s political landscape under Kacou’s leadership, positioning him as a formidable contender in the upcoming race.
Kacou brings a wealth of experience to the table, having served as executive director of the City of Percé and as executive director of Ensemble Montréal, where he played a crucial role in drafting the party’s constitution. His credentials are further bolstered by his tenure as an elected member of the executive committee of the Canadian Commission for UNESCO and his recognition in the Senate of Canada during Black History Month for his impactful contributions.
