Tiffany Foster Claims Victory at $75,000 ATCO Cup Grand Prix

Canadian equestrian athlete Tiffany Foster secured a significant victory at the $75,000 CSI3* ATCO Cup Grand Prix held at Thunderbird Show Park on March 10, 2024. Riding her horse, Electrique, Foster showcased her skill and determination, finishing with a time of 40.89 seconds to claim the top spot in front of a supportive local crowd.
Foster, who trains at her base, Forest Edge Farms, in Langley, British Columbia, faced stiff competition from fellow Canadian rider Kara Chad, who came in just four hundredths of a second behind her. Foster’s performance marked a highlight in the event, demonstrating the strength of Canadian talent in equestrian sports.
Highlights of the Grand Prix
The Grand Prix event featured an impressive lineup of competitors, but Foster’s connection with Electrique was undeniable. The 11-year-old mare, owned by 5 Roosters, has quickly become a standout in Foster’s stable since they began competing together in 2023. Earlier this summer, they finished in the top six at the Million Dollar Queen Elizabeth II Cup at Spruce Meadows in Alberta.
In an emotional moment after her win, Foster expressed her gratitude, stating, “I’m so grateful to the Coxe family and 5 Roosters who bought her for me. She can win five-star grand prixs, and she can win at a lower level. She’s such a versatile horse and such a nice thing to have in your string.”
The atmosphere at Thunderbird Show Park was electric, with many spectators cheering for Foster and her fellow Canadian riders. The event showcased an all-female, all-Canadian podium, further highlighting the achievements of women in the sport.
Looking Ahead
As Foster celebrates her victory, she is also preparing for the prestigious “Masters” tournament at Spruce Meadows, where she will compete with both Electrique and her other horse, Battlecry. The excitement surrounding her recent win adds to the anticipation for what lies ahead in her competitive season.
For now, Tiffany Foster enjoys a well-deserved moment of triumph, having demonstrated not only her riding prowess but also her ability to perform under pressure. The victory at the ATCO Cup Grand Prix solidifies her status as a prominent figure in Canadian equestrian sports, inspiring both fans and aspiring riders alike.
