Marie Chiem, the owner’s daughter, stated, “We’re asking the city if they can forgive the penalties and interest portion that we owe for the property tax arrears, not all of it.” The family is willing to pay the actual property taxes owed but needs relief from the penalties to fund essential repairs, including plumbing and electrical updates.
