Kelowna Hosts Hot Rods and NHL Stars During Dual Events

BREAKING: Two exciting events electrified downtown Kelowna on August 23, 2023, as car enthusiasts and hockey fans gathered for an unforgettable day. The BC Corvette Club celebrated its 60th Anniversary Show and Shine along Water Street, while the annual Kelowna Hockey Fest transformed the Prospera Place parking lot into a hub of activity with food trucks and road hockey.

The atmosphere was charged as both events ran side by side, bringing joy to Kelowna residents. The highlight of the day was the Kelowna Hockey Fest Pro Game, featuring an impressive lineup of current and retired NHL stars. Among them were Brent Seabrook and Duncan Keith, both Stanley Cup champions, along with Hall of Famer Shea Weber and players Brayden Schenn, Tyler Myers, Ethan Bear, Dustin Wolf, and Shea Theodore. Notably, Jessica Campbell, the NHL’s first female coach, also took part, inspiring many attendees.

Last year, the inaugural hockey fest attracted over 3,000 attendees, raising more than $20,000 for the YMCA of Southern Interior B.C.. The continued success of this event not only showcases local talent but also fosters community spirit and support for a great cause.

As the day unfolded, residents enjoyed the lively ambiance filled with the sounds of revving engines and cheering crowds. With both events bringing together diverse groups of people, this celebration of cars and hockey created lasting memories and strengthened community bonds.
