The North Island Menopause Conference is set to return to Campbell River on November 8, 2024, providing a platform for women to gain critical insights and support during their menopause journey. This second annual event aims to build on the success of last year’s inaugural gathering, offering a full day of expert-led discussions and community-building activities.

Taking place at the Campbell River Community Centre, the conference will bring together leading experts in women’s midlife health. Kathy Grayson, founder and executive director of the conference, expressed enthusiasm for the event’s return, stating, “Women deserve access to accurate information and the chance to find community with others experiencing the same transitions.” The aim is to ensure women receive the support they need to navigate this complex stage of life.

Expert Speakers and Engaging Workshops

The conference features a lineup of distinguished speakers, including keynote speaker Shirley Weir. As the founder of Menopause Chicks, Weir has spent over a decade advocating for women’s health by providing evidence-based information and breaking down stigma surrounding menopause. Her contributions have made her a significant voice in the community.

Other notable speakers include Tanya Kessling, a registered physiotherapist and owner of Mend Bodyworks, Elisabeth Crisci, an award-winning medical doctor, and Erin Roman, a registered dietitian focusing on the intersection of nutrition and mental health. Each of these experts will contribute to a diverse range of discussions, addressing topics such as sleep issues, hormone therapy, exercise, and mental health.

Participants can engage in both large-format talks and smaller, interactive workshops tailored to their interests. The conference aims to create a personalized learning experience, allowing attendees to choose sessions that align with their individual needs.

Additional Resources and Networking Opportunities

In addition to the scheduled talks and workshops, the event will feature booths showcasing various services and products related to menopause and women’s health. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with speakers during informal discussions throughout the day, fostering a sense of community among participants.

Tickets for the conference are priced at $75, with options for both in-person attendance and an online stream of selected presentations. The online option will be available live and for a limited time after the event. Interested parties can find the full schedule, speaker lineup, and ticket information at nimenopause.com.

Organizers are actively seeking additional sponsors and vendors to enhance the conference experience. For more information, individuals can reach out via email at [email protected].

The North Island Menopause Conference promises to be an inspiring and informative event, empowering women as they navigate the challenges and opportunities of menopause.
