DeKalb County Community Foundation Appoints Scott Gulke as Finance Director

The DeKalb County Community Foundation has appointed Scott Gulke as its new finance director, marking a significant addition to its leadership team. A lifelong resident of Sycamore, Illinois, Gulke brings nearly 30 years of corporate finance experience and a strong dedication to his community.
Gulke expressed his enthusiasm for the role in a recent news release, stating, “What drew me to the foundation was its giving and helping spirit. I love my community and want to be part of something that helps it remain a place where people want to raise their families.” His professional journey began at Allstate’s corporate headquarters in Northbrook, following his graduation with a bachelor’s degree in finance from Northern Illinois University.
In recent years, Gulke enjoyed a period of semi-retirement, where he contributed to local schools as a substitute teacher while remaining actively engaged in community activities. His involvement extends to volunteering with the Children’s Community Theatre, Stage Coach Players, and various productions at Sycamore High School, where he assisted in building sets and supporting the local arts scene.
Gulke and his wife, who is also his high school sweetheart, have four children and six grandchildren, many of whom attend schools in Sycamore. In his leisure time, he enjoys playing volleyball, cycling, and spending time with his grandchildren.
In his new position, Gulke will oversee the financial operations of the foundation, ensuring effective stewardship of its charitable assets. His work will support the foundation’s mission to enhance the quality of life throughout DeKalb County.
Dan Templin, Executive Director of the DeKalb County Community Foundation, welcomed Gulke to the team, saying, “We’re thrilled to welcome Scott to the foundation team. His strong local roots, financial expertise, and commitment to our stewardship role make him an outstanding addition.”
The DeKalb County Community Foundation plays a vital role in the region, promoting philanthropy and community development. For further information about its initiatives and programs, interested individuals can visit the foundation’s website at dekalbccf.org.
