SpaceX Delays Starship Launch Due to Ground System Issue

UPDATE: SpaceX has just postponed the highly anticipated launch of its Starship rocket, initially scheduled for 7:35 p.m. ET today, due to urgent issues at the launch site in Texas. The decision, announced roughly 30 minutes before liftoff, halts the tenth flight of Starship and delays the achievement of critical development milestones.

The 232-foot (70.7-meter) Super Heavy booster, stacked with its 171-foot (52-meter) Starship upper stage, was prepared for liftoff when SpaceX revealed on X that it was “standing down from today’s tenth flight of Starship to allow time to troubleshoot an issue with ground systems.” This unexpected setback comes as SpaceX continues to face challenges in its development process, which is crucial for its long-term ambitions, including potential crewed missions to the Moon by 2027.

SpaceX had planned for the rocket to separate its upper stage from the booster at high altitudes, simulating a series of maneuvers intended to test new capabilities.
