GlobalComix Expands Digital Manga Library with Kodansha Partnership

GlobalComix, a leading digital comics platform, has significantly enhanced its offerings by signing a distribution agreement with Kodansha, one of Japan’s most esteemed manga publishers. This partnership allows GlobalComix to provide access to thousands of digital manga titles, making it a noteworthy destination for fans of the genre.
Currently, the platform features over 500 volumes of manga, with plans to add more than 5,500 additional volumes on August 27, 2023. This extensive selection will include new day-and-date releases alongside a substantial back catalogue, presenting a comprehensive range of titles from Kodansha. All manga will be available for purchase on an a la carte basis, while GlobalComix Gold members will benefit from exclusive discounts.
Readers will find popular series such as Attack on Titan, Witch Hat Atelier, Vinland Saga, Silent Voice, and MF Ghost among the new additions. Notably, for the first time, Kodansha’s Young Magazine will be available in English for U.S. audiences. This special edition will be free to read on GlobalComix until the end of 2025, allowing fans to explore one of Japan’s iconic anthologies without any cost.
“Our mission at GlobalComix is to make manga and comics of all kinds accessible to fans everywhere,” said Eric Tapper, Vice President of Business Development and Co-Founder of GlobalComix. “This partnership isn’t just a content milestone; it’s a major leap forward in building a truly global comics platform. And this is only the beginning of what we have planned for manga on GlobalComix.”
As digital comics continue to gain traction, GlobalComix’s collaboration with Kodansha positions it as a prominent player in the industry. The platform’s commitment to expanding its library aligns with the increasing demand for diverse and accessible content in the digital age. With this partnership, GlobalComix not only enhances its catalog but also reinforces its dedication to delivering high-quality manga to a global audience.
The addition of Kodansha’s titles marks a significant step for GlobalComix, as it seeks to capitalize on the growing popularity of manga worldwide. This expansion is expected to attract both new readers and long-time fans, further solidifying GlobalComix’s reputation as a premier digital comics platform.
