Evacuation Orders Lifted in Peachland, B.C. as Wildfire Contained

UPDATE: Residents in Peachland, B.C. can now return home as officials have announced the lifting of evacuation orders for 58 addresses. This significant development comes just hours after the orders were imposed around midnight on July 26, 2023, due to a wildfire near Peachland Creek.
The blaze, which has been confirmed as human-caused, was initially detected on Tuesday and affected local power supply and traffic conditions on Highway 97. As of this morning, the fire has been deemed held at a size of 1.4 hectares.
