Square Enix Unveils Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade for Switch 2

Square Enix has officially confirmed that the highly anticipated Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will run at a stable 30 frames per second on Nintendo’s upcoming Switch 2. This announcement comes after considerable speculation regarding the performance capabilities of the new hardware. Players can look forward to smooth gameplay and vibrant visuals when the game launches this winter.
In a statement shared across its official social channels, Square Enix noted, “Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade launches this winter on Nintendo Switch 2, running at a stable 30 frames per second offering smooth performance and crisp visuals.” While comprehensive technical specifications for the Switch 2 version have not yet been disclosed, early feedback indicates that the adaptation has been executed with remarkable skill.
Impressive Early Impressions
John Linneman from Digital Foundry, renowned for his detailed performance analyses, praised the port as one of the most impressive demonstrations of the Switch 2’s capabilities to date. He remarked, “I’m gonna say right now, this is the best-looking thing I’ve seen on Switch 2. Seeing that game running at a stable 30fps, with that excellent motion blur especially, it looked fantastic. It was completely stable; it looked on par – actually, I would say it looks better than the PS4 version, at a glance.”
The Final Fantasy VII Remake originally debuted on PlayStation 4 and later received enhanced versions for PlayStation 5 and PC. The Switch 2 release signifies the first opportunity for players to experience this acclaimed reimagining of the classic JRPG on a Nintendo console, which expands access to one of Square Enix’s most celebrated modern titles.
With the launch window set for this winter, excitement is mounting among fans eager to see how the full game performs on Nintendo’s next-generation hardware. As the release date approaches, further details regarding additional features and gameplay enhancements are expected to emerge, promising to elevate the gaming experience even further.
