Beloved Musician Jim Belsito Passes Away at 65 in Sudbury

BREAKING NEWS: The family of James Louis “Jim” Belsito has announced his passing at the Health Sciences North in Sudbury on August 22, 2025, at the age of 65. This heartfelt announcement comes as friends and family remember Jim as a cherished musician, dedicated father, and beloved friend.

Jim leaves behind his wife of 43 years, Carol Belsito, and their two sons, Corey (Kelsey) and Adam (Heather). He was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren: Ayden, Hailey, Connor, Owen, and Oliver. His legacy of love and laughter resonates through the lives he touched.

A passionate musician, Jim shared his love for music throughout his life, performing in various bands and captivating audiences with his talent. His family describes how he could light up any room, whether through his music or his legendary sense of humor. In addition to music, Jim was a skilled craftsman who enjoyed woodworking, creating beautiful pieces with care and creativity.

Jim’s professional life was dedicated to Algoma Steel, where he worked for 35 years. His colleagues admired his strong work ethic and willingness to help others, showcasing his dedication both on and off the job.

Outside of work, Jim found joy in the great outdoors. Camping, hunting, and fishing were among his favorite pastimes, fostering countless memories with family and friends. His storytelling ability and infectious laughter made him a beloved figure in his community.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Jim’s life at a Memorial Service on September 5, 2025, at 12:00 PM at the Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre located at 942 Great Northern Rd. The service will be officiated by Rev. Helen Smith, followed by a time of fellowship in the Northwood Lounge. Memorial donations to a charity of choice are appreciated by the family.
