Strathearn Art Walk Wraps Up: 30,000 Attend, Artists Connect
UPDATE: The Strathearn Art Walk has concluded its 13th annual event in Edmonton, drawing an impressive 30,000 attendees over the weekend. This year’s event, which ran from September 22 to 24, 2023, featured 364 artists showcasing their talents in a vibrant community setting.
Event producer Jenny McAllister highlighted the significance of the Art Walk, stating, “I love the opportunity that people have to talk to the artists and learn from them.” Attendees engaged directly with artists, discovering their inspirations and the journeys that shaped their crafts.
This year marked a notable shift as the event kicked off on a Friday with a lively night market, diverging from its traditional Saturday-Sunday schedule. McAllister noted, “It’s nice to still have opportunities to get out and see people, run into neighbors and even reconnect after the summer.”
The Art Walk featured a diverse array of talent, including musicians, visual artists, jewelers, and various artisans, creating an immersive experience for visitors. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as community members explored the artworks and enjoyed the festivities.
With the event now wrapped up, the success of the Strathearn Art Walk demonstrates the power of art to foster community connections. As local artists gain exposure and engagement through such events, the impact resonates beyond the weekend.
Stay tuned for more updates on community events and initiatives that continue to enrich the cultural landscape in Edmonton and beyond.
