Beloved Teacher Christopher Allan Elliott Passes at 68

UPDATE: The community is mourning the loss of Christopher Allan Elliott, who passed away on September 6, 2025, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, at the age of 68. His brave battle with cancer ended, leaving behind a legacy of love and commitment to his family and students.

Elliott was a devoted husband to Cathy Elliott for 49 years, a cherished father to Sam and Ben, and a proud Grandad to Campbell. His influence extended beyond his family to countless students over more than 25 years of teaching and coaching, where his kindness and dedication shaped lives.

In a heartfelt tribute, the family expressed their gratitude for the support from caregivers, including Dr. Spadafora and the staff at Sault Area Hospital. They highlighted Elliott’s passion for sports, particularly his unwavering support for his sons’ athletic endeavors, whether on the baseball field or hockey rink.

A come-and-go service to celebrate his life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 25 on September 15, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The family requests donations in lieu of flowers to the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society or KidSport Sault Ste. Marie.

Elliott’s family shared an emotional message: “A limb has fallen from our family tree… Remember the best times, the laughs, the song, the good life I lived while I was strong.”

His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, making this a profound loss for the community.
