Steve Hackett Brings Genesis’ ‘Lamb’ to Life in Montreal Concert

Former Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett is set to perform a selection of songs from the iconic album The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway during a concert at Salle Wilfrid Pelletier in Montreal on October 9, 2023. This performance marks a significant moment for fans of the progressive rock genre, as the album, originally released in 1974, remains a landmark in rock history. During a recent interview with CTV News, Hackett expressed his frustrations about the slow progress of the remastering project. He noted, “It’s one of those things that I cannot control. I could never say to you, ‘Yes, I think it’ll come out by Christmas 2027,’ and I may still be wrong.” Although the album’s anniversary is approaching, he acknowledged that Genesis has a history of missing such milestones. “Anniversaries get missed. It’s very Genesis,” he remarked, reflecting on his departure from the band in 1977.

The guitarist elaborated on his detachment from the remastering work. He stated, “I just figured that the more cooks there are, the slower it will be,” adding that he is not directly involved in the project. Hackett emphasized that he remains passionate about the music and is keen to showcase it on his current tour.
