URGENT UPDATE: The Streator Rotary Club has launched its annual coat and blanket drive, with collection efforts underway right now. This initiative benefits the Streator Salvation Army and aims to provide warmth to those in need as winter approaches.

Donations are being accepted at multiple locations throughout Streator, including the Salvation Army at 126 S. Bloomington St., the Streator Family YMCA, Kroger, and the Streator Onized Credit Union’s Northpoint branch. The drive will continue until Monday, Oct. 20.

Distribution dates have been set for Thursday and Friday, Oct. 23-24, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Salvation Army. Organizers emphasize that there is a critical need for children’s coats, although all sizes of coats and blankets in clean, good condition are welcomed.

This drive not only provides essential items but also fosters community spirit and support for those facing hardships. The Streator Rotary Club encourages everyone to contribute what they can to make a difference.

For further details or inquiries, contact the Streator Salvation Army at 815-672-2746. Act now to help those in need and spread the word! Share this urgent call to action with friends and family to ensure no one is left out in the cold this winter.
