URGENT UPDATE: A significant fire at Bloor-Yonge Station has disrupted subway operations on both Line 1 (Yonge-University) and Line 2 (Bloor-Danforth), according to the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC). Service was suspended starting at 7 a.m. this morning, leaving commuters scrambling for alternatives.

Currently, trains on Line 1 are not stopping at Bloor-Yonge Station. Instead, shuttle buses are being deployed to transport passengers between Rosedale and Wellesley. On Line 2, the situation is equally challenging, with no service between St George and Broadview stations. Shuttle buses are operational for this stretch as well, but passengers should anticipate longer wait times.

The TTC warns that customers may experience delays of up to 10 minutes between Kipling and St George stations due to these unforeseen disruptions. Commuters are advised to plan accordingly, as the fire’s cause and extent remain under investigation.

Authorities are actively working to restore service, but no timeline has been provided. The TTC will continue to update the public as more details emerge.

This incident highlights the urgent need for reliable transit alternatives in the city. Commuters are encouraged to stay informed through official TTC channels and consider carpooling or alternate public transport options during this disruption.
