Bureau Valley’s Wyatt Novotny Secures 3rd at Riverdale Regional

UPDATE: Bureau Valley’s senior golfer Wyatt Novotny has made headlines by placing third at the Class 1A Riverdale Regional held on Wednesday at Byron Hills Golf Course. Novotny delivered an impressive performance, finishing with an even-par 71, securing his spot for the upcoming Cambridge Sectional on Monday at Valley View Golf Club.

In addition to Novotny, three other competitors also earned advancement: Aaden Browder of Earlville finished with a score of 78, placing 10th, while Brody Hartt of Mendota tied for 13th with an 81. Chase Montavon, competing for the Amboy co-op, secured the final individual sectional spot with a score of 84.

The team rankings revealed Bureau Valley’s strong showing, finishing fifth with a score of 336. Mendota placed sixth at 341, while Earlville and Amboy finished 12th and tied for 13th, scoring 382 and 386 respectively. Riverdale dominated the field with a winning score of 301, followed closely by Fulton at 306 and Eastland at 324.

This regional event was crucial for many young athletes as they vie for sectional glory and the chance to advance further in the competitive landscape of high school golf. Novotny’s success is a testament to his hard work and dedication, making him a standout player to watch in the upcoming sectionals.
