Ongoing Water Main Upgrade Delays Traffic on Cedar Hill Cross Road
Drivers navigating Cedar Hill Cross Road in Saanich will encounter ongoing disruptions due to a water main upgrade project. Single-lane alternating traffic is in effect between Borden Street and Cumberland Road, requiring motorists to remain vigilant as the work progresses.
Originally slated for completion earlier, the project timeline has been extended. The upgrade is now scheduled to continue from September 18, 2025, to October 10, 2025, taking place daily between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.. During this period, all vehicles will have access to the road, although delays should be expected.
To facilitate the construction, signage and on-site traffic control personnel are present to guide drivers through the work zone. The local authorities have emphasized the importance of following these traffic instructions to ensure safety and smooth flow.
Cyclists are not left out, as the bike lane remains open throughout the duration of the project. Authorities encourage cyclists to make use of this lane while adhering to safety guidelines.
As the upgrade progresses, drivers are reminded to respect all traffic signs and cooperate with the directions provided by traffic controllers. This project aims to enhance the water main infrastructure, ultimately benefiting the Saanich community with improved services.
Residents and commuters are advised to plan their routes accordingly to minimize delays during this construction period.
