Urban Barn Matches Donations to Support Local Non-Profits

Canadian furniture retailer Urban Barn is enhancing its community support by matching donations made at all 54 stores across the country. This initiative aims to assist 37 non-profit organizations, including Foundry Kelowna, through its newly launched campaign titled “Blanket the Country.”
Linda Letts, President of Urban Barn, explained the campaign’s core mission. “Blanket the Country is fundamentally about compassion in action,” she stated. Letts emphasized that by partnering with local non-profits, the initiative ensures that donations remain grounded in the communities they serve. “Every act of generosity helps provide immediate and meaningful support,” she added.
From now until October 31, 2023, Urban Barn’s Kelowna location on Banks Road will match all in-store or online donations of $5. Customers who contribute will receive a 20 percent discount on a minimum purchase of $100, which can be used between November 1-23.
While October serves as Urban Barn’s designated month of giving, the company accepts donations for the campaign year-round. This ongoing effort reinforces the retailer’s commitment to supporting local communities and ensuring that individuals facing challenges are provided with necessary assistance.
Through the “Blanket the Country” initiative, Urban Barn invites its customers to play an active role in fostering goodwill and compassion, highlighting the importance of feeling seen, valued, and cared for within the community.
