UPDATE: Major service changes will impact the Quinte region this Thanksgiving weekend. Authorities have confirmed that several critical facilities will close on October 13, 2023, affecting residents’ plans.

In Belleville, key locations including Belleville City Hall, Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre, Glanmore National Historic Site, Belleville Public Library, and Quinte Mall will be shuttered. Additionally, the regular transit services and mobility transit will not operate on this day, posing challenges for those relying on public transport.

Residents should also note that the Hazardous and Electronic Waste Depot will close on October 11, adding urgency for those needing to dispose of waste before the holiday. However, there are no changes to the regular operating hours for the Thurlow Landfill, and curbside garbage, green bin, and bulky items collection will continue as scheduled.

As families prepare for Thanksgiving festivities, these closures could significantly affect plans and services across the region. Authorities urge residents to plan accordingly and make arrangements in advance.
