BREAKING: A 45-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with a tragic fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred on August 1, 2023, in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. The arrest of Danielle Kitzan took place on October 13, following a thorough investigation by the Prince Albert Police Service Major Crimes Unit.
The collision unfolded around 10:13 PM on August 1, when a police officer in the 1200 block of 2nd Avenue West witnessed what appeared to be a collision involving a vehicle and pedestrians in the adjacent 1400 block. Upon arrival, the officer found two individuals—Amy Lariviere, aged 34, and Warren Dalton, aged 56—suffering from serious injuries. Tragically, Lariviere later succumbed to her injuries after being transported to the hospital by Parkland Ambulance.
The vehicle responsible for the hit-and-run fled the scene, intensifying the urgency for authorities to identify the driver. After weeks of investigation, police confirmed Kitzan’s arrest without incident at her residence in Prince Albert. She faces charges of operating a vehicle involved in an accident that resulted in death and bodily harm.
Kitzan made her first court appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Tuesday, with no additional suspects remaining in the case and no further charges expected.
