Knights of Columbus Seek Warehouse for Annual Christmas Hamper Drive

The Knights of Columbus are reaching out to the community of Campbell River in search of a commercial warehouse space to support their 52nd annual Christmas Hamper Drive. The organization is looking for a facility to lease during November and December to accommodate their efforts to provide food hampers to families in need.
In a recent press release, the Knights emphasized the importance of community support, stating, “The Knights are asking the Campbell River community to continue with its support of the Christmas Hamper effort, as it always has. This year, the goal is to provide food hampers in December to 800 Campbell River area homes in need.”
The required warehouse space must be a minimum of 3,500 square feet. The Knights of Columbus are appealing directly to property owners and commercial realtors to contact them with any leads on available spaces. Those who can assist with this search are encouraged to reach out to Knight Ron Gaudreault at 250-287-1806 or via email at [email protected].
The organization highlighted the challenges posed by rising operational costs. “Unfortunately, in these tough economic times, rising annual expenses incurred in securing and delivering the Christmas food hampers continue to exceed the amount of donations received,” the press release noted.
To facilitate donations, the Hamper Donations office will be relocated this year to 141-B Dogwood Street. The new contact number for the office will be 250-287-6752, effective once it opens in November. Until then, community members can make contributions online at www.canadahelps.org/en/chartities/hamperfund5468.
The Knights of Columbus remain optimistic that the community will respond positively to their appeal, ensuring that they can once again provide essential support to those in need during the holiday season.
