The Toronto Blue Jays have announced that right-hander Kevin Gausman will take the mound for Game 5 of the American League Championship Series. Gausman, who has a playoff record of 1-1 with a 2.38 earned-run average this postseason, will face off against Bryce Miller of the Seattle Mariners on Friday afternoon. This matchup comes as the Blue Jays aim to level the best-of-seven series at two games each.

In a noteworthy lineup change for Game 4, which is scheduled for tonight, Blue Jays slugger Anthony Santander will not be participating due to back stiffness. Manager John Schneider has made strategic adjustments to the lineup in Santander’s absence. Addison Barger will shift to right field, Ernie Clement will take over at third base, and Isiah Kiner-Falefa will start at second base.

The Blue Jays are looking to build momentum after securing a victory in Game 3. A win at T-Mobile Park would put them in a strong position to even the series, which has become increasingly competitive as the teams vie for a spot in the World Series.
