Newmarket Boardwalk Opens for Fall Foliage Adventure Today!

UPDATE: Newmarket’s highly anticipated boardwalk officially opened today, inviting residents and visitors to experience the stunning fall foliage along the Environmental Park and Dave Kerwin Trail. Families are flocking to the area, eager to soak up the autumn colors and enjoy the crisp air.
Just this morning, my daughter, Kate, and I took our adventurous goldendoodle, Piper, for a walk on the newly unveiled boardwalk. The structure spans over 1,000 feet and connects the park with Clifford Perry Place, creating an accessible space for all to explore. With Thanksgiving Monday falling on October 13, the park was buzzing with activity, making it clear that today is the perfect day for outdoor fun.
Visitors are already experiencing the vibrant seasonal changes, as trees begin to transition into beautiful hues of yellow, orange, and red. However, if you’re looking for a quiet stroll, be advised: the park was packed with families, pets, and fellow nature lovers. The atmosphere was festive, with everyone in a cheerful holiday spirit.
IMPORTANT EVENT: As the fall foliage continues to develop, the Environmental Park is gearing up for its annual Haunted Halloween Trail. Scheduled for October 23 to 25 from 7 to 10 p.m., this spooky attraction is designed for participants aged 10 and up and costs just $5 per ticket. Don’t miss out on the eerie transformation of the park later this month!
The boardwalk itself offers a breathtaking view, with 10-foot wide pathways and high railings, ensuring safety while providing unobstructed views of the surroundings. Many walkers paused to snap selfies, capturing the stunning sights along the way. Kate expressed her excitement about returning once the autumn colors reach their peak, saying, “The colors around the boardwalk are starting to be stunning and will only get more beautiful as the season goes on.”
As we ventured off from the crowd, we discovered a quieter area of the park, ideal for reflection and relaxation. It was a perfect ending to our day, highlighting the importance of getting outside and embracing nature before winter sets in.
Newmarket’s boardwalk is not just an addition to the park; it represents a community space where families can connect with nature and each other. With many residents planning to visit in the coming weeks, this location is quickly becoming a must-see destination for anyone looking to enjoy the vibrant fall season.
