Building Superintendent Charged with Assaulting Two Girls in Etobicoke
URGENT UPDATE: A 52-year-old building superintendent has been charged with multiple sexual offences against two young girls, aged 8 and 10, in Etobicoke, just outside Toronto. Authorities confirm he was arrested on Wednesday after a disturbing investigation that dates back to January 2024.
This alarming case has raised significant concern in the community, as police allege the man befriended the girls during his time as a superintendent at an apartment building near Islington Avenue and Rexdale Boulevard from May 2023 until this month. He faces a staggering array of charges, including five counts each of sexual assault and sexual interference, along with two counts each of making and possessing child pornography.
The investigation took a darker turn when it was revealed that the girls’ apartment was broken into on Tuesday, where an attempt was made to lure one of them outside. This shocking breach of safety has left the community in fear and seeking answers.
Police have expressed concerns that there may be additional victims and have released a photo of the suspect in hopes of gathering further information. The investigation is being conducted in collaboration with the Child and Youth Advocacy Centre, which includes specialized child abuse investigators from the Toronto police and various children’s aid groups.
