Lower Mainlanders Join Season 3 of The Traitors Canada
Two contestants from British Columbia are set to participate in the highly anticipated third season of The Traitors Canada, which premieres on October 21, 2023, at 21:00. The popular competition series, airing on CTV, will feature Vancouver event planner Azfir Balenciaga and Langley sales director Curtis Steeksma among its diverse lineup of players.
Returning as the gamemaster is actress Karine Vanasse, who previously hosted the Quebec version of the show. This season, 22 Canadian players will engage in a “ruthless game of social deduction and deception,” aiming to outsmart each other for a chance to win a cash prize of up to $100,000. The competition tests contestants with a series of mental and physical challenges designed to increase the prize pot, while they navigate alliances and betrayals.
The premise of the show involves participants initially entering as “Faithful” players, but some will be secretly selected as “Traitors.” As the Faithful work to identify the Traitors among them, the Traitors will attempt to eliminate their opponents under the cover of darkness. This dynamic creates a tension-filled atmosphere, as relationships are tested and strategies unfold.
In the previous season, Neda Kalantar, a Vancouver native, emerged victorious, taking home $72,000 in prize money. Her victory highlights the competitive nature of the series, which has garnered attention and acclaim since its inception.
Viewers can catch up on the first two seasons of The Traitors Canada, which are available for streaming on Crave, alongside international versions from countries such as the U.S., U.K., Australia, France, New Zealand, and Hungary. The series is based on the original Dutch format De Verraders, which has inspired various adaptations around the world.
Fans of the show can expect an engaging blend of strategy, deception, and entertainment as the new season unfolds, promising to captivate audiences once again.
