Foo Fighters Set for Regina Stadium Show After 2022 Cancellation

The Foo Fighters have announced their return to Regina, Canada, with a concert scheduled for September 15, 2026, at the 33,000-seat Mosaic Stadium. This highly anticipated event follows the cancellation of a planned performance at the Brandt Centre in September 2022, which was scrapped due to the tragic death of the band’s long-time drummer, Taylor Hawkins.
In March 2022, the Foo Fighters issued a heartfelt statement confirming the cancellation of their tour, expressing their collective grief over Hawkins’ passing. The band urged fans to take a moment to grieve and reflect on the music and memories they shared together. “We’re sorry for and share in the disappointment that we won’t be seeing one another as planned,” they said at the time.
The announcement of the Regina concert comes as part of a new international tour for the band, which resumed full-time touring last year. Regina Exhibition Association Limited (REAL), which manages Mosaic Stadium, teased the concert earlier this week by projecting the Foo Fighters’ logo on the stadium’s jumbotron. Additionally, REAL shared a social media post featuring jerseys personalized with the surnames of frontman Dave Grohl, guitarist Chris Shiflett, and new drummer Ilan Rubin, captioned with the phrase, “We’re suiting up for something REAL big,” accompanied by the hashtag “live music.”
Excitement Builds for Fans
The announcement has generated significant excitement among fans, coinciding with the release of a new single titled “Asking For A Friend.” Founded in 1994 by Grohl, who was previously the drummer for Nirvana, the Foo Fighters have celebrated a storied career, amassing 15 Grammy Awards and holding the record for the most wins for Best Rock Album, including their 2022 release, Medicine at Midnight. Their latest studio album, But Here We Are, debuted in 2023, marking the band’s first release since Hawkins’ death.
The Foo Fighters have produced numerous chart-topping hits, including classics like “All My Life,” “Best of You,” and “Learn to Fly.” In recognition of their influential impact on music, the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021, during their first year of eligibility. That same year, they also received the inaugural MTV Global Icon Award, recognizing their unparalleled career and global success.
Fans in Regina and across Canada can look forward to the Foo Fighters bringing their renowned energy and musical prowess to the stage once again. With the tour announcement and the release of new music, the band is poised to re-establish its connection with audiences after a challenging period.
For those interested in attending the concert, ticket details and further announcements are expected to follow as the date approaches.
