Blue Jays’ Guerrero, Bichette, and Springer Named Silver Slugger Finalists
In a significant recognition of their offensive prowess, three players from the Toronto Blue Jays have been named finalists for the prestigious Silver Slugger Award. First baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr., shortstop Bo Bichette, and designated hitter George Springer are all vying for this honor, which acknowledges the top offensive performers at each position in Major League Baseball.
The announcement of the finalists was made on October 23, 2025. Guerrero is up for the award for a second consecutive year, having previously won the American League first-base Silver Slugger in 2021. His impressive performance this season includes a batting average of .292, with 23 home runs and 93 runs batted in across 589 at-bats. Notably, he maintained a low strikeout rate of just 94 times.
Bichette’s contributions to the team have also been remarkable. Despite missing the final three weeks of the regular season due to a knee sprain, he finished with an impressive .311 batting average, 18 home runs, and 94 RBIs. His 181 hits ranked him second in the major leagues, a testament to his offensive consistency throughout the season.
Springer rounds out the trio as a finalist, showcasing his skills and experience on the field. The winners of the Silver Slugger Awards, determined by votes from Major League managers and coaches—excluding players from their own teams—will be revealed on November 7, 2025.
This recognition highlights not only the individual talents of Guerrero, Bichette, and Springer but also underscores the strength of the Blue Jays’ lineup. As the team looks to build on their successes, the anticipation for the announcement of the winners adds to the excitement surrounding the franchise and its dedicated fan base.
