Canadians Embrace Halloween: Top Costume Trends Revealed NOW
UPDATE: Canadians are diving headfirst into Halloween preparations as the spooky season approaches. New data from Google reveals what the nation is searching for right now, with trends indicating a strong influence from pop culture characters and creative Halloween-themed food.
In an exciting twist, characters from the popular Netflix animated film K-Pop Demon Hunters are dominating search queries. Since June, Rumi, Zoey, and Jinu have surged in popularity, with Rumi’s costume wig emerging as the top trending search in Canada over the past month. This surge has sparked a wave of interest in related items, with Canadians seeking out “purple hair extensions” and “purple hair dye.”
Meanwhile, the Labubu costumes have also captured attention. Following an increase in searches since April, Labubu ranked as the second-highest trending children’s costume in Canada and the sixth in global Halloween searches. The growing popularity of collectible toys has fueled this trend, making it a must-have for young Halloween enthusiasts.
Additionally, characters from the recently released musical film Wicked are taking off, with searches for “Glinda costume” and “Elphaba costume” skyrocketing. These characters, portrayed by Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, are quickly becoming Halloween favorites as Canadians look to embody the enchanting world of Oz.
Not to be outdone, pop culture fandoms are influencing costume choices as well. Searches for popular duo costumes, including “Belly and Conrad” from Amazon Prime’s The Summer I Turned Pretty and “Stitch and Angel” from Disney’s Lilo and Stitch, are trending high. Canadian Halloween enthusiasts are clearly eager to showcase their favorite characters this season.
Interestingly, despite the departure of the Squid Game phenomenon, Canadians are still showing interest in the Front Man character, indicating a lingering impact from the series.
On the culinary front, Canadians are also getting creative with Halloween-themed treats. Top searches for spooky snacks include “black pizza,” “brain hemorrhage shots,” “ghost cupcakes,” and “witch finger almond cookies.” These unique food items are sure to add a festive flair to Halloween gatherings.
As Halloween approaches, the excitement is palpable. Canadians are not just preparing costumes but are also looking to make this spooky season unforgettable with creative food and unique character portrayals. Stay tuned for more updates as trends continue to evolve leading up to October 31. This Halloween is shaping up to be one of the most imaginative yet!
