Byron achieved a commanding victory over Oregon, winning 56-15 in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs on October 27, 2023. The team showcased their offensive strength by scoring 36 consecutive points during the second quarter, which ultimately secured their position in the next round of the tournament. This victory marks Byron’s perfect season record of 10-0.

Caden Considine had a standout performance for Byron, rushing for 182 yards and scoring three touchdowns on just 14 carries. His contributions were critical in leading the team to victory. Oregon initially kept the game competitive, narrowing the score to 14-7 early in the second quarter with a 55-yard touchdown pass from Benny Olade to Keaton Salisbury.

Despite this brief resurgence, Byron quickly regained control. They finished the first half with an overwhelming 50-7 lead, effectively putting the game out of reach for Oregon. The Tigers’ ground game proved potent, accumulating a total of 443 rushing yards on 45 carries. In stark contrast, Oregon struggled throughout the game, managing only 184 total yards. The 63 points allowed by Oregon set a new school record for the most points conceded in a single game.
