West Lethbridge is set to experience a significant transformation with the announcement of four major development projects totaling over $300 million. These initiatives will encompass a diverse range of residential, commercial, hospitality, and senior living spaces, marking a notable expansion in the area.

TCI has committed to constructing the region’s first full-service hotel, which will feature 120 rooms along with an extended-stay component. Additionally, TCI plans to open the city’s fourth Wendy’s restaurant. “This investment represents our commitment to growth, community, and quality,” stated Martie Murphy, CEO of Tollestrup Group.

Commercial and Residential Developments

In another significant move, Sherwood Developments Inc., in collaboration with Avison Young Lethbridge and Silver Ridge Construction, is poised to develop more than 100,000 square feet of commercial and retail space across 11 acres. “This is a significant project for the community of Lethbridge and especially for those in the West who have been underserviced for years,” remarked Matthew Sherwood, President of Sherwood Developments.

Meanwhile, Cedar Ridge Homes plans to construct 450 residential units on 13 acres. “The Crossings is the new heartbeat of West Lethbridge, and we’re excited to build a cutting-edge residential development,” said Lonny Hoy, CEO of Cedar Ridge Group.

Additionally, the Green Acres Foundation is set to create a 2.11-acre senior living community, designed to offer independent living options close to local amenities. “This project helps create a community where seniors can live independently while staying closely connected to essential services,” explained Dawna Coslovi, CEO of Green Acres Foundation.

Impact on the Community

Together, these projects are expected to significantly enhance housing, commercial, and service options in West Lethbridge. The developments will not only provide vital services to residents but also contribute to the economic growth of the area.

With a focus on modern living and accessibility, West Lethbridge is positioning itself as a vibrant community that meets the evolving needs of its residents. The ongoing investment in these major projects underscores a commitment to fostering growth and improving the quality of life in the region.
