Creative Forces Launches Today: Spotlight on Innovators in B.C.
UPDATE: The Tyee is set to launch an exciting new initiative, Creative Forces, TODAY at 5 p.m., spotlighting British Columbians who harness their creativity to enact positive change. This initiative aims to honor innovative thinkers whose work addresses pressing societal challenges, from sustainable energy solutions to education in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM).
This new project kicks off with the announcement of the very first Creative Force, revealed in the latest edition of the Weekender, The Tyee’s arts, ideas, and culture section. Readers will be introduced to a trailblazer who has developed a program inspiring young individuals to realize their potential in STEAM fields. Harrison Mooney, a prominent voice at The Tyee, will share insights from his time in the innovator’s lab and insights from their engaging conversation.
Each first Friday of the month will now be dedicated to Creative Forces, allowing The Tyee to shine a light on individuals across various sectors—be it arts, technology, or advocacy—who are making a tangible impact on their communities. This initiative seeks to build a bridge between creative minds and the needs of society, encouraging collaboration and innovation.
CALL TO ACTION: The Tyee invites its readers to participate in identifying these Creative Forces. A simple online form has been created for readers to nominate individuals who exemplify creativity with a conscience. This crowdsourcing effort is crucial as The Tyee aims to profile the most impactful change-makers across British Columbia.
The first community partner to join this initiative is CreativeMornings/Vancouver, who will feature a Creative Forces spotlight at their monthly breakfast events. They will also encourage nominations for the next honoree, fostering a community of creativity and collaboration.
As the initiative unfolds, The Tyee plans to host a special event next year to celebrate these Creative Forces, showcasing their remarkable contributions to society.
Stay tuned to The Tyee this evening at 5 p.m. to discover the identity of the first Creative Force. Join the movement to recognize and elevate the innovative thinkers around you! Together, let’s celebrate creativity that drives progress and change.
