BRDHS Nobles Secure Victories in Thrilling Fall Sports Season
UPDATE: The Belle River District High School (BRDHS) Nobles are making headlines as they dominate the fall sports season with impressive performances across multiple disciplines. As of now, the Nobles have showcased remarkable teamwork and skill, securing vital victories in volleyball, basketball, football, golf, cross-country, and tennis.
The junior boys volleyball team kicked off their season with a 2-1 record, recently defeating UMEI in a decisive match. Meanwhile, the senior boys squad is on fire, winning their first five games, including a stunning 3-0 victory over Brennan and an exhilarating 29-27 win against St. Cécile.
On the hardwood, the junior girls basketball team is steadily improving, highlighted by a thrilling win over Catholic Central, led by standout player Lillian Ashton. The senior girls basketball team remains undefeated with a remarkable 6-0 record, narrowly edging out Erie Migration 42-41 thanks to powerful performances from Julia Cooney and Gabriella Draca.
In football, the Nobles are also maintaining an unbeaten league record, recently clinching a 29-12 victory over Riverside, solidifying their place as a formidable contender. The golf team, under the leadership of captain Nash Raymond, finished in the top ten at the WECSSAA championships, advancing to the SWOSSAA competition.
Cross-country runners are not to be overlooked, with novice athletes Nola Groot and Ephram Impens making a significant impact at the “Thrill on the Hill” meet. Senior runners Gabrielle Draca and Ronnie Bondy also delivered strong finishes, further demonstrating the depth of talent at BRDHS.
Highlighting this season’s achievements, the tennis team made history as Alex Bially and Nash Raymond captured the SWOSSAA boys’ doubles championship, marking the school’s first SWOSSAA title since 2018 and earning a spot at OFSAA.
As the fall sports season progresses, BRDHS athletes are not just showcasing skill but also exemplifying dedication and determination.
