UPDATE: The Winnipeg Jets delivered a stunning performance on November 12, 2025, taking down the Vancouver Canucks 5-3 at Rogers Arena. Star defenseman Josh Morrissey led the charge with a goal and two assists, helping the Jets break a three-game losing streak.

The game exploded into action from the first whistle, with both teams trading goals in a hectic opening period. Jonathan Toews opened the scoring just 4:57 into the first, redirecting a shot from Morrissey to give the Jets an early lead. The Canucks responded at 10:21 when Kiefer Sherwood netted his 11th goal of the season in a slick play with Quinn Hughes.

Vancouver surged ahead 2-1 with a power-play goal from Jake DeBrusk at 11:58, but Morrissey quickly answered just under three minutes later, firing a point shot past Thatcher Demko to tie it at 2-2. The Jets reclaimed the lead 15 seconds later, with Nino Niederreiter scoring in the crease.

Demko, who had been struggling, left the game after the first period, paving the way for Kevin Lankinen to step in. Shots favored Vancouver 12-8 after the first, but the second period saw no scoring as both teams tightened their defenses.

The Jets struck again early in the third period, with Gabe Vilardi scoring another power-play goal just 48 seconds in, extending the Jets’ lead to 4-2. As the clock wound down, the Canucks pulled their goalie for an extra attacker. Brock Boeser brought the Canucks within one at 4-3 with just 90 seconds to play.

However, in a fitting conclusion to a milestone night, Alex Iafallo sealed the victory for the Jets with an empty-netter 47 seconds from the final buzzer, marking his 600th NHL game.

This win is crucial for the Jets as they look to regain momentum in the season. Meanwhile, the Canucks will head out on a three-game road trip starting Friday at 4 p.m. in Carolina. Stay tuned for more updates as the NHL season progresses!
