Bad Bunny Leads Nominations as 2025 Latin Grammy Awards Return to Las Vegas
The 2025 Latin Grammy Awards are set to take place on March 27, 2025, returning to Las Vegas after last year’s milestone 25th anniversary celebration in Miami. This year’s event promises to be an exciting showcase of Latin music, with Bad Bunny leading the nominations with a total of 12. This achievement marks a significant shift, as he surpasses producer and songwriter Édgar Barrera, who previously dominated the nomination list in 2023 and 2024.
Barrera is tied with the Argentinian hip-hop duo CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, both receiving 10 nominations this year. The Latin Grammy Awards will be broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, starting at 8 p.m. Eastern. An hour-long pre-show will begin at 7 p.m. Eastern, providing fans with early coverage of the event.
A livestream of the red carpet will be available on YouTube and APNews, hosted by the Associated Press starting at 5 p.m. Eastern. This year, the Latin Grammys are introducing a new category for music in visual media, which will honor original compositions for films, television, video games, and other visual platforms. To qualify, projects must incorporate Latin rhythms or be created by individuals of Ibero-American descent.
Additionally, a new roots song category will recognize songwriters of original, unpublished recordings that reflect the cultural traditions of various communities, particularly those of Hispanic American origin. This category aims to celebrate diversity in language and heritage, as eligible songs may be in Spanish, Portuguese, or Indigenous dialects.
Performers scheduled to take the stage include an array of prominent artists such as Bad Bunny, Karol G, Marco Antonio Solís, and Gloria Estefan. The event will also feature Jesús Ortiz Paz from Fuerza Regida, along with other notable acts like Aitana, Ivan Cornejo, and Los Tigres del Norte. The Latin Grammy’s 2025 Person of the Year will be announced, with past honorees including Carlos Vives and Juanes.
As anticipation builds for this year’s Latin Grammy Awards, fans can look forward to a vibrant celebration of music that highlights the talents and contributions of artists from diverse backgrounds.
