Urgent Inquest Announced into 2021 Death of First Nation Man
UPDATE: An inquest has been urgently announced into the 2021 death of Percy Adam Henry, a 27-year-old member of the Wabaseemoong Independent Nations, who died on February 8, 2021, in Kenora, Ontario. His passing occurred at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital after being transferred from the Kenora Jail, according to a statement from Ontario’s Coroner’s Office released today.
The inquest is set to explore the circumstances surrounding Henry’s death. A five-member jury will be responsible for establishing critical facts, including the identity of the deceased, the timing and location of death, the medical cause, and the means of death. Additionally, the jury will classify the death as one of the following: natural causes, accident, homicide, suicide, or undetermined.
