Brad Paisley Delivers Nostalgic Performance in Winnipeg
Brad Paisley captivated an audience of over 6,500 at the Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg on November 14, 2025, delivering a nostalgic concert filled with fan-favorite hits and engaging antics. The event coincided with the Grey Cup Festival, adding to the lively atmosphere as fans donned jerseys from local Canadian football teams, including the Blue Bombers and Saskatchewan Roughriders.
As the concert began slightly behind schedule, Paisley, 53, took to the stage wearing his trademark white cowboy hat and wielding a blue Telecaster. He launched into the title track of his current tour, accompanied by vintage Chevrolet trucks flashing across a large screen. This track serves as a narrative sequel to his earlier hit, “Truck Yeah,” which helped solidify Paisley’s reputation as a pioneer in country music’s truck-themed love song genre.
Despite not releasing a full-length album since 2017, Paisley remains a prominent figure in the music industry. His latest projects include a holiday record, released just the week prior, and a collection of past hits that came out in 2023. The absence of new material did not dampen the audience’s spirits; instead, many embraced the opportunity to celebrate classic songs.
During the concert, Paisley showcased a mix of older hits and newer tracks, including a mid-show performance of “Santa’s on His Way,” which brought a festive cheer to the venue. A particularly memorable moment occurred when a young fan named William received a guitar from Paisley, who encouraged him to “learn how to play it.” This gesture highlighted the artist’s connection with his audience.
The stage production featured a simple yet vibrant setup, utilizing a variety of lights and video animations. Alongside a seven-piece band, Paisley delivered energetic renditions of songs like “Mud on the Tires” and “Alcohol.” He showcased his humor through playful interactions, such as a guitar game with his technician and playfully scrolling through a fan’s phone while she watched in disbelief.
Paisley’s performance was not without its amusing highlights, including a comical medley that ended with him surrounded by uniformed officers from the Winnipeg Police Service and a giant cowboy hat-wearing mascot. The show concluded with the poignant party anthem “I’m Still a Guy,” leaving the audience both entertained and reflective.
Opening for Paisley were Meghan Patrick and Jackson Dean. Patrick, who hails from Ontario, kicked off the evening with an engaging set filled with her original songs. Dean followed with a blend of powerful ballads and haunting melodies, setting the stage for Paisley’s lively performance.
Overall, the concert underscored Paisley’s enduring appeal in the country music scene, proving that while new material may be limited, the classics still resonate deeply with fans. In the words of Paisley himself, if the truck still works, there’s no reason to scrap it.
