Rogers Place Launches Exclusive Behind-the-Scenes Tours for Fans
Edmonton’s iconic Rogers Place is now offering fans an exclusive opportunity to explore its inner workings with new behind-the-scenes tours. After nearly ten years of operation, the venue has introduced two distinct tour options that provide an insider’s look into areas usually off-limits during concerts and Edmonton Oilers games.
The classic tour lasts approximately 90 minutes and takes participants through several key locations. Visitors will have the chance to see the Oilers Hall of Fame, where they can learn about the team’s rich history and memorabilia. Tour-goers will also visit the press box, players’ tunnel, benches, and celebrity dressing rooms. According to Marla Podlosky, manager of corporate event sales at Rogers Place, “There’s really something for everyone regardless of whether you’re a hockey fan or if you just want to see how a world-class area works.”
For those seeking a more intimate experience, the private VIP tour accommodates groups of up to 20 guests. This exclusive option includes a beverage and hors d’oeuvres reception in the Oilers Hall of Fame area, followed by the guided tour. Podlosky noted that interest in these tours has surged, particularly during the summer months. “I have folks reaching out from all over the world, like Europe, that say they’re coming down and they’re trying to get tickets and ask if we’re going to open up more dates,” she said.
The increased demand can be attributed to the Edmonton Oilers’ recent playoff runs, which have sparked greater enthusiasm among fans who wish to experience the arena’s behind-the-scenes magic. One highlight of the tour is the door leading from the Oilers’ locker room to the tunnel and bench, a spot that generates excitement for many attendees. Podlosky emphasized, “That’s something you see on TV but is never something you can experience firsthand, so I think for a lot of people that’s been quite a memorable moment for them.”
While the Oilers locker room remains off-limits to fans due to its frequent use by coaches and players, visitors can view the NHL visitors’ dressing room. Individual tickets for the classic tour are priced at $30 for adults and $20 for children. After completing the tour, participants can enjoy a 15 percent discount on merchandise at the Ice District Authentics store with their ticket purchase.
These new tour programs build on the existing popularity of informal tours that have already attracted significant interest. With a combination of history, access, and exclusivity, Rogers Place is poised to enhance the fan experience, offering a deeper connection to the venue and the Edmonton Oilers.
With contributions from CTV News Edmonton reporter Amanda Anderson, Rogers Place continues to make strides in engaging fans both locally and internationally.
