Prince Harry to Address Real Estate Conference in Toronto
Prince Harry is set to be the keynote speaker at a conference hosted by the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) on December 1, 2025, in Toronto. The event, which takes place at the Hilton hotel, will feature approximately 450 attendees, primarily property professionals, with ticket prices ranging from C$299 (£163) for members to C$499 (£272) for non-members.
Organizers have highlighted Harry’s multifaceted identity as a “humanitarian, mental health advocate, environmentalist, and military combat veteran.” His address will focus on themes of “service and leadership,” aiming to inspire attendees to foster positive change within their communities and address global challenges.
Background on Prince Harry’s Real Estate Journey
Since stepping back from royal duties in early 2020, Harry invested in real estate, purchasing a home in Montecito, California, for approximately $15 million (£11 million). Reports from October 2025 indicated that Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, acquired another property in Portugal, hinting at a potential expansion of their real estate portfolio.
Historically, Harry lived in royal residences, including Frogmore Cottage in Windsor and Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace. At Frogmore, he and Meghan contributed £2.4 million towards renovations and rental costs, while Nottingham Cottage served as their first home as a couple.
Mixed Reactions to Harry’s Keynote Speech
The announcement of Harry’s participation in a real estate conference has drawn diverse opinions. Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams remarked on the irony of his speaking about “service and leadership” at an event focused on real estate, given that Harry’s tenure as a working royal was relatively short-lived. Fitzwilliams expressed concerns regarding Harry’s past criticisms of the monarchy and noted controversies surrounding his charity work, particularly with Sentebale and Africa Parks.
Despite the skepticism, the conference promises to be a significant gathering, featuring influential political figures, including Ontario Premier Doug Ford and Green Party leader Mike Schreiner. The event aims to cover various topics, including real estate policy, housing supply, and the Canadian economy.
Attendees can expect a full day of discussions, with Harry’s address anticipated to deliver a compelling message. While it remains uncertain whether Meghan Markle will accompany him, her connection to Toronto—where she lived while filming the series “Suits”—adds a personal dimension to the event.
The OREA has described the conference as “THE political event of the year,” emphasizing its importance in the realm of real estate and the broader community. As the date approaches, interest in Harry’s insights and the overall discussions scheduled for the day continues to grow.
