UPDATE: Canadians can now earn more WestJet points through a new partnership with Skip the Dishes, launched today. Starting October 11, 2023, WestJet Rewards members can link their accounts with Skip to earn points on qualifying delivery orders, transforming everyday purchases into travel rewards.

This innovative collaboration allows Canadians to accumulate WestJet points for flights and vacations while also providing the option to redeem them for Skip Credits, usable at grocery stores, pharmacies, and restaurants. “In a challenging economy, Canadians rely on loyalty points to turn everyday purchases into tangible value, from a need-it-now delivery to a dream vacation,” said Rachel MacAdam, vice president of marketing at Skip.

Here’s how the WestJet and Skip partnership works: Members who link their accounts will receive an immediate bonus of 500 WestJet points—equivalent to a $5 value—and six months of Skip+ free, a benefit worth $60. This grants users free delivery from thousands of restaurants and retailers.

Additionally, members will gain access to weekly “WestJet Wednesday” Skip Challenges, allowing them to earn airline points on eligible orders. Furthermore, Skip members will enjoy exclusive access to WestJet’s annual seat sales. “By linking WestJet Rewards with Skip, we’re giving our members the flexibility to earn and redeem points in ways that go beyond travel, bringing their next getaway closer with every order,” stated Steve McClelland, WestJet vice president of loyalty and strategic partnerships.

Linking accounts is straightforward: users can sign into their Skip accounts, select “link now,” and follow the guided steps to authenticate. This strategic partnership follows WestJet’s recent collaboration with Telus announced in October 2023, further enhancing the ways members can accumulate points.

This initiative not only incentivizes food delivery but also empowers Canadians to maximize the value of their everyday spending. As the economy poses challenges, programs like this provide much-needed support for consumers looking to stretch their dollars further.

Stay tuned for more updates on how this partnership evolves and impacts consumers across Canada.
