BREAKING: Three Calgary charities were unexpectedly gifted a staggering $265,000 in donations during a meeting at a local car dealership on Friday, October 20, 2023. Representatives from the Alberta Animal Rescue Society, Woods Homes, and the Autism Aspergers Friendship Society walked into Fifth Avenue Volkswagen on Meridian Road N.E., believing they were there to provide fundraising advice. Instead, they were met with a life-changing surprise that left them overwhelmed with gratitude.
Deanna Thompson from the Alberta Animal Rescue Society expressed her shock, stating, “We came here today thinking we were having a meeting, and we were surprised with one of the most generous cheques we have received from organizations here in Calgary. I’m just overwhelmed more than anything – this has been such an amazing afternoon.”
The generous donation was made possible through the collaborative efforts of employees from three local dealerships: Fifth Avenue Volkswagen, Lexus of Royal Oak, and Charlesglen Toyota.
