Four Arrested in Thunder Bay Drug Raid; $17,000 in Cocaine Seized
BREAKING: Four individuals have been charged following a significant drug raid in Thunder Bay, Ontario, that unfolded just hours ago. At approximately 5 p.m. on Thursday, the Thunder Bay Police Service, with assistance from the Ontario Provincial Police, executed search warrants at two locations, including a local business and a residence on the 300 block of Shuniah Street.
Authorities reported that the operation stemmed from an ongoing investigation into suspected drug trafficking at the targeted properties. During the raid, police uncovered and seized an alarming quantity of suspected cocaine with a street value exceeding $17,000. In addition to the narcotics, officers also confiscated cash and various items associated with drug trafficking.
The accused include a 36-year-old woman, a 55-year-old woman, both locals from Thunder Bay, a 56-year-old man from the same city, and a 29-year-old woman from Toronto. Each has been charged with drug trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime.
In a swift legal response, all four individuals have already appeared in court. The man and woman from Toronto have been remanded into custody, with future court dates scheduled. Meanwhile, the two Thunder Bay women have been released and are due back in court later.
This urgent operation highlights the ongoing battle against drug trafficking in the region, underscoring the police commitment to tackling these pressing issues. Local residents are urged to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
