BREAKING: Two significant arrests have been made in Kankakee, Illinois, as authorities crack down on drug and weapons offenses. On July 27, 2021, the Kankakee Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group (KAMEG) arrested Zachary M. Sells, aged 30, charging him with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver. This operation unfolded after agents executed a search warrant at Sells’ residence, uncovering a staggering 17.6 grams of methamphetamine along with additional drug paraphernalia.

In a parallel incident on the same day, authorities apprehended Jose Rojas, an 18-year-old from Kankakee, for unlawful use of a weapon. Rojas was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped for a traffic violation when deputies discovered he was concealing a firearm in his waistband.

Both suspects now face serious charges, with Sells’ bond set at $200,000 and Rojas’ bond at $75,000. The swift action by local law enforcement highlights the ongoing battle against drug trafficking and illegal firearms in the area.

These developments come at a time when community safety is a top priority, as residents remain concerned about rising crime rates. KAMEG officials are urging citizens to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities.

As authorities continue to investigate these cases, more details are expected to emerge. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
