Five Lives Lost, Including Three Children, in Colorado Crash

A tragic accident in Franktown, Colorado, resulted in the deaths of five individuals, including three children, following a three-vehicle collision on March 18, 2024. The incident occurred shortly after 16:30 local time when a driver lost control of a Toyota hatchback, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

The crash unfolded as the southbound Toyota veered off the right shoulder, then returned to the roadway. It rolled onto the northbound lane, where it collided head-on with a northbound Ford sedan before striking a Ford pickup truck. The driver of the Toyota was ejected from the vehicle during the rollover and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Tragically, the driver of the Ford sedan and three of the five children who were passengers in that vehicle also died on impact. Two other children were transported by air to a medical facility, but their current conditions have not been disclosed. The driver of the pickup truck was unharmed in the incident.

The Colorado State Patrol has initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. The Douglas County Coroner will release the identities of the deceased once notifications to next of kin have been completed.
