BREAKING NEWS: Team Homan has officially secured their place at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy! The Ottawa-based curling team, led by Rachel Homan, clinched their Olympic berth after dominating the Montana’s Canadian Curling Trials.

Homan and her team will compete in Milano Cortina this February, marking a significant milestone as they prepare to represent Canada on the world stage. The first match is set for February 12 against Denmark at the Cortina Curling Olympic Stadium.

This achievement is particularly poignant for Homan, who is making her third Olympic appearance. Despite her impressive trophy collection, which includes three World Curling Championships gold medals, an Olympic podium finish has so far eluded her. In the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics, she finished sixth, and in 2022, she competed in the mixed doubles, securing fifth place.

Joining Homan is fellow Ottawa native Emma Miskew, who has also earned three World Curling Championships golds and played alongside Homan in 2018. The team also features Tracy Fleury from Sudbury and Sarah Wilkes from Toronto, creating a well-rounded squad with a wealth of experience.

As the top-ranked women’s curling team in the world, Team Homan’s journey to the Olympics resonates deeply with fans back home in Ottawa and across Canada. This upcoming competition provides them with another chance to chase Olympic glory and fulfill their dreams.

The anticipation is building as fans eagerly await the opening match against Denmark. Will Team Homan finally bring home the Olympic medal they have been striving for? All eyes will be on them as they embark on this thrilling journey.

Stay tuned for more updates as Team Homan prepares for their Olympic debut, and don’t miss the chance to cheer them on as they aim for curling excellence on February 12!
