NORAD Launches 70th Year of Tracking Santa on Dec. 1
BREAKING: The North American Aerospace Defence Command (NORAD) is set to launch its iconic Tracks Santa program on December 1, 2025, marking a monumental 70 years of spreading holiday cheer worldwide. This beloved tradition allows families to follow Santa’s journey as he delivers gifts across the globe every Christmas Eve.
NORAD, which tirelessly monitors North American airspace 24/7, turns its attention to tracking Santa each December. The official NORAD Tracks Santa website will go live on December 1, providing a platform for millions to check Santa’s real-time location as he travels from home to home.
“We are thrilled to kick off our 70th year of tracking Santa—a tradition rooted in goodwill, cooperation, and holiday spirit,” said a spokesperson from the NORAD Tracks Santa center. The excitement builds as families prepare to join in this festive experience.
On December 24, global trackers can receive live updates on Santa’s whereabouts by calling the NORAD Tracks Santa Operations Center at 1-877-HI-NORAD (1-877-446-6723) from 4 a.m. to midnight MST. A web-based calling option will be available for those who prefer to connect directly through the noradsanta.org website. Additionally, the call center will offer virtual translation services in over 200 languages, ensuring families worldwide can participate.
The NORAD Santa tracker also features an interactive North Pole Village, complete with a holiday countdown, games, music, and a downloadable app—making it easier than ever to engage with this time-honored tradition.
As NORAD prepares for this year’s festivities, the organization continues its vital missions year-round, including aerospace warning, control, and maritime warning for North America. With headquarters in Winnipeg, Manitoba, NORAD remains committed to both defense and community spirit.
Mark your calendars for December 1! Join NORAD in this joyous celebration, and experience the magic of tracking Santa like never before.
Stay tuned for updates and prepare to share the excitement with family and friends.
