Fort Edmonton Park Unveils Winter Wonderland for Holiday Cheer
URGENT UPDATE: Fort Edmonton Park has officially transformed into a stunning winter wonderland, just in time for the highly anticipated Edmonton Christmas Market. The festival, which runs from November 29 to December 21, features over 150 vendors and promises an unforgettable holiday experience.
This annual event has become a highlight of the season, offering more than just shopping opportunities. “We have outdoor market huts full of tasty treats and lots of different things to explore and eat,” said Kirsta Franke, executive director of the Edmonton Christmas Market. The park’s enchanting transformation includes both indoor and outdoor spaces, adorned with festive decorations that create a magical atmosphere.
Families can enjoy a variety of activities, including playing in snow-covered landscapes, marveling at intricate ice sculptures, and taking rides on the carousel, streetcar, or vintage sleigh. The Capitol Theatre will also be alive with the sounds of live performances, showcasing cabaret, music, and dance throughout the festival. Note that most shows are not included in the price of admission.
This year’s market emphasizes support for local businesses. “A big priority of ours is supporting local wherever we can,” Franke stated. Visitors can shop from local vendors and enjoy performances from artists hailing from across Alberta.
The Edmonton Christmas Market, which has been delighting visitors since 2019, operates every Thursday through Sunday, making it a perfect destination for holiday festivities. With a commitment to creating a joyful and festive environment, this event is poised to draw large crowds eager to celebrate the season.
