Calvary United Hosts Festive Music Event on Dec. 7, 2025!
URGENT UPDATE: Calvary United Church is set to transform into a festive hub this Sunday, December 7, 2025, as they host ‘An Afternoon of Music and Fellowship’ featuring the renowned Prince Albert Children’s Choir and Friends. The community event kicks off at 2:00 p.m. with doors opening at 1:30 p.m., inviting families to celebrate the Christmas spirit through uplifting music.
This year marks the third edition of this beloved annual event, promising an afternoon filled with joy and festive cheer. Organizer and producer Bob Hayes emphasized the event’s role in uplifting spirits: “This will really put people in the Christmas mood.” The choir will be accompanied by a new backup group, aptly named ‘Friends,’ performing pre-concert music to enhance the holiday atmosphere.
The concert will showcase two sets from the children’s choir, featuring the Junior Choir for ages 6-10 and the Senior Choir for ages 10-18. Under the direction of Megan Fournier-Mewis, the young performers will delight audiences with a mix of traditional and original Christmas music. “Anytime you have children singing in the Christmas season, it warms the hearts,” said Fournier-Mewis.
Beyond the music, attendees will enjoy a time of fellowship in the Upper Hall after the concert, where complimentary beverages and cookies will be served. The event not only provides entertainment but also supports the choir’s initiatives, with admission based on a freewill donation aimed at funding the choir and equipment replacement for the church.
As excitement builds, Hayes urges the community to join in: “We are looking forward to everyone having a wonderful afternoon. Everyone likes the children’s choir. It really gets many into a positive afternoon that takes them into the Christmas season.”
Don’t miss this chance to feel the warmth of the season and support local talent! Share this news and mark your calendar for an unforgettable afternoon at Calvary United Church on 25th Street East!
