LeBron James’ Streak Ends as Lakers Edge Raptors 123-120
UPDATE: In a stunning turn of events, LeBron James’s historic scoring streak has officially ended, as the Los Angeles Lakers narrowly defeated the Toronto Raptors 123-120 on December 4, 2025. This marks the end of James’ remarkable run of 1,297 consecutive double-digit scoring games in the regular season, a feat that dated back to January 5, 2007.
Despite his team’s victory, James expressed indifference about the streak ending, stating, “None,” when asked about his feelings. “We won.” The 40-year-old veteran managed just eight points during the game but contributed significantly with 11 assists and six rebounds, helping the Lakers improve to 16-5 this season.
The game took a dramatic turn as Rui Hachimura hit a buzzer-beating three-pointer, sealing the win for Los Angeles. This clutch performance came as the Lakers played without star Luka Doncic, who missed the trip for personal reasons. Austin Reaves exploded for 44 points and 10 assists, stepping up in a major way for the team.
The Raptors’ Scottie Barnes was instrumental in limiting James’ impact, recording a double-double with 23 points, 11 rebounds, and nine assists. Toronto head coach Darko Rajakovic praised Barnes, saying, “I thought that Scottie did an outstanding job on him,” referring to James’ struggles in the game. James shot 4 for 17 from the field and missed all five of his three-point attempts, failing to draw a single free throw.
Barnes reflected on the significance of ending James’ streak, noting, “I grew up watching him, and to know that he’s always had that streak going and it’s ended today, it’s pretty cool just to be a part of it.” The young guard, who was born a year after James started his career, expressed the surreal nature of competing against a player of such caliber.
James’ early-season struggles continued as he missed training camp due to sciatic nerve irritation and also sat out the first 14 games of the season. However, his legacy as one of the greatest players in NBA history remains intact, even as this chapter closes.
As the NBA season progresses, fans will be watching closely to see how James rebounds from this setback and whether he can reclaim his scoring prowess. The Lakers will look to build on this victory in their upcoming games.
This report highlights the significant moments from an iconic game and the emotional weight of a streak that defined a career. With the stakes higher than ever, the league and its fans will be eager to see what the future holds for LeBron James and the Lakers.
