URGENT UPDATE: The Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) just announced a thrilling contest for couples to win an all-expense-paid symbolic wedding ceremony at this summer’s fair! The “Marriage on the Midway” event is set for August 23 and promises a day filled with love, excitement, and unforgettable memories.

Couples with a special connection to the CNE are encouraged to share their love stories for a chance to be selected. The winning couple will enjoy a picturesque vow ceremony beneath the iconic CNE Ferris wheel, complete with a professional photographer and a wedding cake from a local bakery. As an added highlight, they will have reserved seating at the Bell CNE Bandshell to watch the acclaimed band 98 Degrees perform their romantic hit “I Do (Cherish You).”

This heartwarming event allows the chosen couple to invite up to 20 guests to the exhibition for a day filled with unlimited rides and $500 in food vouchers. While the ceremony is not legally binding, it represents a beautiful celebration of love and community spirit.

CNE Marketing Director Jane Matthews expressed enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, “Every year we meet and hear from visitors who tell us that they had their first date at the CNE or met their partners while working their summer job.” She continued, “We’ve had wedding proposals at the CNE, so this year we thought, why not a wedding ceremony?”

Eligible couples must be Ontario residents aged 18 years or older and submit their applications online by midnight on August 8. This is a unique opportunity for couples to celebrate their love in a memorable setting, infused with the vibrant atmosphere of the CNE.

Don’t miss out on this chance to create lasting memories at one of Canada’s most beloved summer traditions! Couples are encouraged to share their stories and apply now before the deadline. Stay tuned for more updates as this exciting event approaches!
